16th Annual Conference on Head and Neck Rehabilitation

About the Program:
This one day program is designed to educate Head & Neck Surgeons, Otolaryngologists, Radiation and
Medical Oncologists, General Dentists, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons and Prosthodontists, Speech-Language
Pathologists, Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, other healthcare professionals and cancer survivors on head
and neck cancer treatments and rehabilitation.  Topics include state of the art surgical and reconstructive
techniques, strategies for improving functional outcomes, the effects of psychosocial factors and substance
abuse on head and neck cancer treatment, current research updates and management of early and late effects
of treatment.
 
Program Objectives:
By attending this program, participants will:
  1. Describe reconstructive surgical techniques in head and neck cancer.
  2. Describe the risks and benefits of Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) and endoscopic laser resection
    for  head and neck malignancies.
  3. Describe communication and swallowing outcomes measures validated for use in patients with head
    and neck cancer.
  4. Identify the indications for the use of lymphedema therapy in the head and neck cancer patient. 
  5. Describe the implications of psychosocial factors and substance abuse for head and neck
    cancer treatment.
  6. Describe research protocols in head and neck cancer.
